We are doing fundraising a bit differently, so it is normal to have a few questions. Here are the ones that come up most.
Who is Funda?
Funda is an Aotearoa New Zealand platform operated by Service Saver, a small New Zealand digital marketing company. We bring local businesses and community groups together to run simple fundraising campaigns that supporters join by claiming a promotion online.
How is this different from a normal fundraiser?
There is nothing to order, pack, store or deliver, and no event day to organise. Supporters claim a promotion from a local business, and the community group receives a set fundraising share from every promotion claimed.
Where does the money go?
Every promotion claimed is split three ways: a fundraising share for the community group, a share for the business partner, and a platform share that covers the website, payment processing, reporting and campaign support. The fundraising share is shown clearly on every campaign page.
What am I actually receiving when I claim a promotion?
A genuine offer from a local business, with the full details set out on the campaign page. After checkout it is emailed to you with simple instructions for redeeming it.
Is anyone being asked to donate?
No. Supporters pay for something worth having and support a local cause in the same step, which makes it a far easier ask for schools and clubs than requesting donations.
What if I need help, or something goes wrong?
If it is about booking or using the promotion, contact the business directly. If it is about payment, confirmation or delivery, get in touch with us and we will sort it out.
Funda looks new. Should we wait?
We are new, and we are being upfront about it. We are working closely with our first community groups and business partners, which means those early campaigns get a lot of attention from us. If you would like your school or club to be one of them, we would love to hear from you.
